Special road development scheme for Kerala: Fernandes

For development of roads in Kerala, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) plans to have a special scheme considering the problem of shortage of land faced by the state, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes said in Thiruvananthapuram on July 15.The details of the scheme would be announced after clearing certain technical parameters, he said.

Work on Kochi's Edappally flyover to begin in 4 months

In Kerala's Kochi city, work on the Edappally flyover will begin in four months, the State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said. All the paper work would be ready in two weeks? time. The State government would formulate a special package to overcome hurdles in acquiring land for infrastructure projects, Chandy said. The package will include relaxing of building rules for those who surrender land free of cost.

Road widening in T'puran for monorail project

Kerala opposes development of 5 NHs

The Kerala government is not willing to develop five National Highways (NH) in the state that are included in the National Highway Development Project (NHDP) Phase IVA and imposing toll on them. The State has informed the same to the Union government.
